Our Values
- Prayer: We believe in seeking God's mercy, guidance, and power through prayer.
Prayer is a central component of our life together and the basis for all we do at Camino Real. (1 Timothy 2:1)
- Multiplication: We believe that an essential element of the Great Commission
involves multiplication. Following Jesus' example, we seek to grow our people into disciple-making disciples of Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20)
- Bible: We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God and, as such,
is our final authority in matters of life and faith. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Church As People, not property: We believe that the church is not a building,
but exists wherever the people of God gather in the name of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we value investing in people over investing in facilities. (Matthew 18:19-20)
- Relational Evangelism: We believe that the most effective form of outreach is relational.
We value encouraging and equipping our people to regularly invite their friends and family members to Camino Real heart groups and worship services. (John 4:39-42)
- Authentic Community: We believe that many people are starving for healthy,
authentic human relationships. Thus, we are committed to "being real" with one another, honestly sharing life's joy and struggles in an environment of grace, acceptance, and love. (Ephesians 4:25)
- Priesthood of All Believers: We believe in the priesthood of all believers -
that the people of the church are the ministers and the staff the equippers. We value discovering, developing, and using our spiritual gifts to accomplish the ministries of the church. (Acts 6:1-7)
- Life-Change is the Goal: We believe scripture teaches that those who encounter
the risen Lord and grow in relationship with Him by the power of the Holy Spirit are a "new creation". Thus, our goal for everyone at Camino Real is nothing less than a transformed life. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- Small Groups: We believe that personal transformation, discipleship, pastoral care,
and leadership development occur most effectively in small, relational groups of people we call "heart" groups. Our heart groups represent our primary vehicle for accomplishing our mission and realizing God's vision for us. (Acts 2:42-47)
